Pelosi's Power: Leading Through Social Media in Politics
Nancy Pelosi is an American politician who served as the 52nd speaker of the House of Representatives. She has made an impressive social media impact throughout her years in office. She uses her platforms to call out other political leaders and shine light on issues we might not see trending in the media. Pelosi uses platforms like X (formerly known as Twitter) to share news, updates, and announcements about her work in Congress. On X she interacts directly with constituents, answering questions, addressing concerns, and soliciting feedback involving the Democratic Party.
Pelosi effectively uses social media to respond to critics, debunk misinformation, and defend her positions on various issues. She spoke out on the misinformation that was spread during Covid-19 stating "know your power" in regards to platforms allowing life-threatening misinformation about Covid-19. She called out Facebook over a similar matter referring to them as a "shameful company".
With over 2 million followers on Instagram alone her social media presence is insane. Although she receives backlash from other politicians like Donald Trump, she continues to stand strong and uses her platform to educate others.
