THE GIRLIES CAN POLITIC TOO
This blog will Showcase women in politics in the media and their rise and fall in the media. When you think of politics you see men only when women play just as big of a part in conducting the same roles for the same positions.
Each week I will post a woman and her involvement in the social media world of politics. Politics have no gender so let us create a space where that is the focus of breaking generational curses. Not just politics but the aspects of how social media has helped these women raise their platforms and create a space that hasn't been mansplained and watered down.
I’ll give my opinions unbiased of what they have to offer for this realm of media. In this blog, I will also show how women contribute to the world behind the scenes as well as how the algorithm places women in media. The development of a new society in 2024!
Hi Kymara,
ReplyDeleteThis is a great topic to blog on. I can not help but to ponder why there has not been a woman president yet. There are statics out there showing that some men (regardless of party) will just not vote for a woman. I wonder if that is what it came down to in the 2016 election?
I hate to bring up Barbie. But the effects of this type of under-representation was showcased in the film. Lack of female leaders reflects a woman's role in society as more submissive. It's import to spotlight female leaders so that future generations do see a role for women in politics.
Looking forward to seeing your post. Maybe you could spotlight AOC!
Hey Kymara! I am in love with your blog idea! This is such a fun and easy way to help inform people of the women in politics! Regardless of the absolute hell the 2020 election was, I remember being so estatic that we finally had a female vice president. I just cannot believe it took this long. I look forward to your future blog posts and can't wait to see what women you choose to highlight <3
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading about your blog. I feel that it is very important that we focus on all gender political issues and debates. I feel that not enough attention is shown to both sides in general but I like the concept that you have going on. I look forward to reading future posts!
